Meet a home business owner
Hi, my name is Nicole and I am a mother...
I have two little children, a son aged 4 and a daughter aged 2. They know which buttons to squeeze to make me run to their assistance at any given moment in time. They keep me pretty busy. Of course they are so sweet and I love them more than anything else. Working from home allows me to spend my time with them, whenever they need me. This is the biggest benefit of being a home business owner. I can work my business in the evenings, when my little darlings are asleep.
As you can see on the picture (if you know what it is), my son is deaf but has had an operation and got a cochlear implant (the blue thing on his head is a part of it). Now he can hear but he still needs to learn to speak (it will come though). His lessons and treatments keep me quite busy because we have to stay at the CI-center for a week almost every month. Anyway, his progress in speach is really worth it!And just because all I need to work is my laptop and my mobil internet connection, I can still work in the evenings, even when I'm stuck at that center. (It isn't fun to be there. Imagine yourself having to sleep at a bording school!)
I am also a home business owner ...
...and I really love my work now! This wasn't always so. Several years did I try to make network marketing work the old way. I talked to everybody about the opportunity. I handed out business cards wherever I went. I started a conversation with strangers just to slip in my business opportunity at some point. In the beginning this wasn't hard. I was new and excited and I thought everyone would love to make some extra money. People were interested and I thought everything was very promising. But then I found that all those people that had shown interest had been informed by someone around them, a friend or family member, that MLM is always a scam and they better stay away from that. Most hurt was I by a very good friend of mine, who was interested in the beginning and then convinced by her husband that I tried to trick her! I was very insulted that she thought so low about me and we became never as close as we had been before. So, what did I learn since then? I learned that the right way to go about this business is to attract people to you, educate them about all they need to know about this business and let them come to you! Then you have a prospect that already knows what MLM is about and who joins the business because he believes in in it! This is the approach Ann Sieg is talking about in her book
"The Renegade Network Marketer"
. She explains the whole concept in a very understandable way. I must say that this book changed my whole view on network marketing and set me off along the right path. I will never again approach a friend or family member unless they ask me! In fact they will have to ask me twice. (You see, I'm a little bit angry that they had so little faith in me when I needed them. Now they have to make up for that.) And I do have a partner, the father of our two little sweethearts, and he didn't believe in a home business untill now.
(He wasn't fond of having his photo on the internet so I had to take one that doesn't show his face.)In fact, he was one of those telling me, I should get a real job. That this dreaming of freedom was leading nowhere and that I was wasting my time! Am I glad, I didn't listen to this advice! Freedom is definetly a goal worth to work for and I'm glad I didn't give up. He still is a nice guy and nowadays we are working together and have the same goal: Financial freedom!
